In 1992, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation approved Pine Tree as a licensed retailer. At that time we developed the idea of a festival that would bring together high-quality craftspersons, artists, guest demonstrators and lecturers in the spirit of celebrating Colonial American history, arts, craftsmanship and decorating. This weekend is our 17th annual Williamsburg Festival at Pine Tree Barn. We're excited this year to have great new artisans and exhibitors as well as our favorite familiar faces we look forward to seeing every year, including:
- Potters
- Cabinetmakers
- Blacksmiths
- Candle makers
- Floor Cloths
- Lace maker
- Dr. Balthazars Traveling Miracle Medicine Show
- Musicians

During the Williamsburg Festival, chat with George Washington, father of our country. Find out whether or not he really cut down the cherry tree, threw a dollar across the Potomac or had wooden teeth! The 8th PA Regiment, A recreated unit of the Continental Army of 1779 will reenact the life and times of military field life. Listen to bag-pipes, muskets, the rhythmic mallet of the woodcarver and the occasional inquiring cluck of a chicken wondering if you're really going to eat the rest of you dill bread or perhaps you could share?
There's positive interaction between the craftsmen and the public resulting in a wonderful learning experience. "One of the best compliments we've received was when history teachers from all over Ohio began sending their student's to our Williamsburg Festival to earn extra credit. We take great pride in providing a fun and educational experience for all ages" says Greg Dush, manager of Pine Tree Barn. |
Insiders Tip! Our restaurant serves a special menu Williamsburg Weekend. If you'd like to eat inside in the Granary, make sure to give your name to the hostess as soon as you arrive, as they are unable to accept phone reservations. Want to grab a quick and tasty bite? The tavern on the green has sandwiches and drinks, too (And very tasty apple dumplings!) |
